L&P Photo

I decided to nip off to L&P Photo today. I really should have checked into bus timetables instead of walking from Rundle Mall to the middle of Kenttown, but it was worth it. I usually get all my local supplies at Photographic Wholesalers, but wanted to see what was there, as I’d heard word they stock SFX. And they do! In 120 and 135, as well as a buttload of other stuff. They have a shelf and a fridge of film, of 135, 120, and even 4×5″. Black and White as well as colour slide and neg.
Their range of gear is second to none in this state too, lots of enlargers and even a nova processor (I call dibbs!), plenty to fawn over, and some enlarger lenses.

Paper costs more than at Photographic Wholesalers, more than $100AUD for 100sh of 8×10″ Ilford MGIV RC. The largest range of film in all sizes and types in Adelaide, I’d say. I’ll report back on exact pricing next time I go back.
Gear is well priced.
They have rodinal, 125ml for $12, and we know how far that goes. It’s pre-AgfaPhoto closure, so it’s the real deal original stuff. You can’t get it by airmail from america here, because it’s a hazardous material. I’ll get some more.

All in all, more than worth a visit. Staff are knowledgeable and digital influence is definately minimal. An old time, real photography store.
