Back to university for the second semester of my first year. I’ve got Intro classes in Printmaking, drawing and (finally) Black and White A, as well as the theory course on modern art. Very fun.
Consequently, you’ll likely be hearing a tad more stuff not at all related to photography.
On the photography front though, I sent my stow of Kodachrome and E6 off to Dwayne’s Lab last week, and got the email today that they’d been processed and mailed back to me yesterday. I expect they’ll be back here by the end of next week. That’s all my medium format and 35mm, as well as the last of the colour shots from Alaska. Expensive, but 2 years of film will do that to you.
I’ve also got half of my colour negative film developed to, praise be to my favorite lab, Torrensville digital photo centre. I’ve just been getting it developed to negatives with an index print, then I cut and sleeve them at home.
I also got my 4×5″ Ektachromes processed by the Lighthouse Lab, but they’ll get their own post later when I’ve had more experience with them. But I’m very happy with the results so far.
On the gear front! I got my Artisan and Artist ACAM1100 bag. Second hand, since funds are perpetually short, but in pretty spot on condition. Very very happy with it, just what I was after – I’ve used it slung over my shoulder with my R2A around the city and botanic gardens. Something I hadn’t considered was the pocket at the back, which happily houses a small notebook and a bundle of pens for exposure notes. You can find more about [this bag here], for some reason they’re calling it the “Evans Walker” now, but ACAM1100 is still the model number. You can grab one from [Mainline Photo]. It’s hard to find a camera bag that will suit you, but it’s worth giving this one some consideration I think. Especially if you can get it on the cheap.
Otherwise not too much else is up, I’ll keep you posted though.
